Big Texas Roundup at Atlanta IPE Poultry EXPO

The 60th annual International Poultry Expo, was January 23-25 2008. It's was reported that over 20,000 attendees from around the world made it to the three-day-event hosted by the Georgia World Congress Center, Atlanta, Ga. These numbers surpasses the attendance in 2007. The domestic total was over 16,000 which included the United States, District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico. Nearly 4,000 international visitors were in attendance, including Dallas USA Foods, which made it a great time to see the latest products, services, and innovations in technology offered by 894 exhibitors.

Acknowledged as the world's largest trade shows... for the poultry, egg and feed sectors of the industry. Funds raised at the IPE are distributed back into the industry in the form of research, education, communications, and technical assistance.

Dallas was represented by Dallas USA Foods, a federally inspected plant who monitors industry trends which increases market knowledge that is then passed on to clients, providing higher standards and lower prices.
















"Based on feedback from exhibitors and attendees, we feel this was an excellent show," said John Starkey, president of the U.S. Poultry & Egg Association, which sponsors the International Poultry Expo. He attributes that success to strong support from the industry and its suppliers, continued participation in the U.S. Department of Commerce's International Buyer Program, educational programs sponsored by USPOULTRY and several trade magazines, and several new projects like the Eco-Innovation Pavilions, the Conference On Pet Food Ingredient Quality, and the Buyer Connection.

"IPE provides an excellent venue for our exhibitors to showcase their products and services before key decision makers. This partnership enables USPOULTRY to continue supporting the poultry industry through its educational, research, and technical programs," Starkey said. Demographics reflect that 99.4 percent of the production of the major broiler companies, 92.4 percent of the production of the major commercial egg companies, and 92.3 percent of the production of the major turkey companies participated in the 2008 show.
